BIO & STATEMENT
Meet Amsterdam-based visual artist Jalinka Gressmann—an eclectic creative with a background in interior design, 3D design, and autonomous sculpture. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Art - Intermedia from the Utrecht School of the Arts in 2004, Jalinka's artistic path took twists before fully embracing art in 2020.
Her work, displayed nationally and internationally and cherished in private collections across the USA, Netherlands, Brazil, Germany, and Belgium, delves into mysticism, nature, and freedom through mixed-media paintings and analog/digital collages. Drawing from dreams, all her senses, music, and diverse inspirations, Jalinka crafts compositions blending surrealism and symbolism.
As an explorer of imagination, Jalinka finds inspiration in flea markets, nature's wonders, and life's absurdities. Using art as her medium in an associative and experimental way, she uncovers patterns and connections, shaping her purpose and finding solace.
Through her art, Jalinka shares a message of unlimited creativity, stating:
'Every moment is an opportunity to discover and create a new adventure. Sharing my art with others is a way of telling people who don't know it yet that creating art has no limits. It feels like the ultimate magical ride in freedom land—where anything can happen!'
