BIO & ART STATEMENT
Jalinka Gressmann creates mixed-media paintings and collages that explore mysticism, nature, and freedom through surrealistic and symbolic narratives. Her work blends figurative and abstract elements into balanced compositions, guided by an intuitive process where all her senses—sight, sound, and scent—play a role. Dreams, fleeting impressions, and the tactile experience of materials fuel her endless flow of ideas, allowing creativity to emerge naturally.
"I am an explorer of imagination and absorb and digest with my senses. I'm constantly in awe, the Ideas flow endlessly from within and the world around me. With a love for hunting and collecting the unique and the odd, I love to wander through flea markets, antique shops, and second-hand bookstores filled with stories. Yet, the most magical discoveries are always found in nature."
Using art as a transformative tool, Jalinka visually communicates patterns and connections, shaping meaning in life’s absurdity. Her work bridges the internal and external, offering moments of reflection, healing, and connection.
Amsterdam-based, Jalinka holds a Bachelor of Fine Art - Intermedia from the Utrecht School of the Arts. With a background in interior design, 3D design, and autonomous sculpture, her multidisciplinary perspective brings richness to her creations. After fully embracing her art practice in 2020, her works have found homes in private collections worldwide.
